Billy - Lead Vocals

Billy started singing and playing guitar in Ireland in the eighties with No Alibis, a rock covers band.

After that was a few years playing Bass and singing in a Rory Gallagher tribute band.

In 1999 he moved across the water to Cheltenham and met Jeff and started playing in pubs and clubs around Gloucestershire.

Billy and Jeff then formed Smokestak, a 4 piece band playing Rock and blues around Gloucestershire.

Billy has also done some solo acoustic gigs which were great fun.

His influences are- Paul Rodgers, David Gilmore and Eric Clapton.

Steve - Lead Guitar

Steve started playing when he had a classical guitar for christmas at the tender age of 7 and then had his 1st electric guitar when he was 10. He joined a primary school rock band and has never looked back always trying to further his abilty.

Hugley influenced by Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and B.B King led his style of lead into a mix bag of traditional and rock blues lead.

The most recent band Steve was a part of was Etched in Stone in 2005, an originals band from Bristol which came 2nd in the Southwest entering The Emergenza Festival which played it's final gig at the Carling Academy Bristol (Now the O2 Academy).

Jeff - Guitar, Harp and Vocals

Been playing guitar for over 40 years, but started on the harmonica a few years before.

First band was in London in the early 70's, "City Road". Supported Matchbox, amongst others. Next was the band, "Southern Gipsy". Then in the 80's, "Heads Under Stress", with bassist, Tony Dangerfield (Screaming Lord Sutch)
Lately, "Smokestak", a local blues & rock outfit... but decided on a name change when the band re-formed & dedicated to playing blues & R&B.

Mark - Keyboard and Backing Vocals

Mark has been playing keyboards from an early age, occasionally dabbling in
rhythm and bass guitar.

He started songwriting whilst still at school, a habit he still finds hard to break.

Mark has played in a variety of bands from
show bands to purist old school R&B.

He plays a Yamaha PSR9000 which has a vast array of sounds (for which he
will one day find the right buttons)

He also plays in Jacksboro_Highway, a Cheltehnam based rock covers band.

Martin - Bass and Backing Vocals

I've been playing guitars of the 6 string variety since I was about 6 (and that's a long time ago..) but after 30 odd years playing in brass bands I took up bass guitar about 7 years ago.

Previous bands include Catch, a keyboard based Jazz/Soul band, and recently Brothers Blue, a Blues Brothers tribute band and Jacksborough Highway.

Main influences are Eagles, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, John Mayall and Cream.
